# getNoteType

> Get a note file type.

```ts wrap theme={null}
static getNoteType(NOTEPath: string): Promise<APIResponse<number>>;
```

**Parameters**

| Parameter  | Type     | Description    |
| ---------- | -------- | -------------- |
| `NOTEPath` | `string` | NOTE file path |

**Returns**

* [`APIResponse<number>`](/en/api-reference/supernote-plugin/types/api-response):
  `result` is the note type: `0` normal note, `1` recognition note

## Example

import { PluginFileAPI } from 'sn-plugin-lib';

/**
 * Example: get note type.
 */
export async function exampleGetNoteType() {
 const NOTEPath = '/storage/emulated/0/Note/demo.note';
